QA Supervisor
Location: San Diego, CA 92126
Hours: Monday Through Friday 8:00am-4:30pm
Full-Time onsite
Pay: 25-30/hour
Temporary: 6 months
Summary:
Responsible for ensuring the quality of the products provided to the customer through the performance and documentation of all required inspections per the company procedures. Provide leadership, direction, and guidance to the Quality Inspectors and Quality Technicians. Create and applies best quality practices to ensure Quality System Compliance. Ensures that all test and inspection documentation is complete before product release.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Leads and manages the Quality Inspectors/Technicians team including scheduling and direction to ensure maximization of support.
* Identifies and creates training programs for the Quality Inspectors/Technicians and maintains a training matrix to ensure cross training maximizes resource availability.
* Trains Quality Control Inspectors (QCI) on proper inspection techniques and utilization of measuring devices.
* Works with Production and Engineering to identify manufacturing process improvements and inspection methods.
* Motivates and coaches employees by assessing employee performance and providing helpful feedback and training opportunities.
* Delegates tasks and manages progresses to ensure the successful completion of department objectives and goals.
* Creates and reinforces a culture of teamwork and safety, and actively resolves conflicts within the team.
* Manages proactively by holding regular 1on1s and team meetings to ensure open lines of communication and professional development for direct reports.
* Updates, reviews, and maintains documents established as part of the Quality System.
* Assists Document Control area activities as required.
* Supports during all validation process phases (IQ, OQ, PQ), works directly with the Quality Engineer/Manager to determine the quality criteria used for validation.
* Maintains gage calibration due dates with Quality and Production.
* Ensures identification, segregation, and disposition of nonconforming material are handled according to procedures and processes.
* Responsible for the control of nonconforming material located in the quarantine area.
* Analysis root cause data and initiates investigations for NCRs, CAPAs, researches customer complaints, and creates corrective and preventive action documentation as needed.
* Conducts internal audits and surveillance needs to ensure adherence to company procedures and policies in the areas of quality, safety, and training.
* Leads and assists during company audits.
* Determines products for testing at specific stages in the installation process, and tests product for a variety of qualities, such as dimensions, performance, and mechanical or electrical characteristics.
* Sets up and performs destructive and non-destructive tests on materials, parts, or products to measure performance, life, or material characteristics.
* Develop and maintain QA Metrics to ensure the achievement of the objectives
* Promotes multidisciplinary work with the different teams of the company.
* Ensures Line Clearance and label control requirements.
* Ensures Good Documentation Practices (GDPs) requirements.
* Ensures Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) requirements.
* Other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
* 2 years of technical experience required.
* 1-3 years of people management experience.
* Digital dental lab supervisory experience preferred.
