From construction management and observation/inspection services to laboratory testing and materials and forensic engineering, our Construction Materials Engineering and Testing market helps to develop and maintain America's infrastructure and supply chain and is a recognized industry leader with more than 25 accredited laboratories.

Step into Your New Role

Kleinfelder is looking for a Construction Materials Engineer who loves working on complex and interesting dam construction projects. The successful candidate will be a detail-oriented individual with demonstrated experience with mass concrete, cast-in place concrete and shotcrete, materials quality assurance, and concrete quality assurance willing to work full time on site in Porterville, California.

This role's primary function is to ensure Kleinfelder exceeds client expectations by exercising sound independent judgement, providing frequent client communication, and meeting deadlines.

Position responsibilities include:

- Provide daily onsite concrete construction observation support, including night work.

- Review construction specifications submittals and request for information (RFIs).

- Document daily construction progress, including results of QC and QA sampling and testing, and note possible deviations from specifications.

-Coordinate, conduct and summarize bi-weekly meetings

-Actively participate in Kleinfelder’s Safety Program

- Communicate with project teams to successfully deliver construction services on a consistent basis.

Consideration for this position requires the following minimum competencies or experience:

- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a construction related field.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license within the United States.
- 5 years of experience in materials testing, construction management, and/or other construction-related engineering services.

- Experience on at least five (5) projects with mass concrete placement at dams.

- Ability to work independently and as a team member, maintaining composure and working effectively in a high-pressure environment with changing priorities.
- Must have excellent interpersonal, presentation, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and ability to pass a drug test.
- Able to use a company provided laptop or tablet computer and a working knowledge of MS Office programs (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
- A good work ethic, attention to detail, and high level of personal integrity.
- Authorization to work in the United States.

Benefits: Kleinfelder offers an excellent compensation and benefits package, including: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k) plan, and paid holidays. The expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the California Pay Scale Disclosure Law. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience. Salary range: $98,000 - $165,000 annually.
