Required License/Registration/Certification American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and Kentucky State Radiation Operators License at time of hire, Basic Life Support certification within 90 days of hire, Computed Tomography (CT) certification within one year of hire date
Physical Requirements Heavy lifting, pushing, and pulling of objects over 50 lbs.
Shift Weekend nights, requires call with 1 hr. response time and participation in the holiday rotation.
Job Summary The CT Technologist provides CT imaging for patients that assists the patient’s physician in expediting needed care. Quality, efficiency, and service excellence are all essential parts of this position. Duties include performing diagnostic and interventional procedures per department protocols, providing feedback on image for improvement as needed, addressing customer needs appropriately according to age specific, service specific and disease specific criteria, and utilizing proper procedure for identifying patients. This position will also assist in a QA review to maintain professional standards for themselves and any technologists that they are called upon to assist.

Maintaining patient efficiency by spending the most appropriate amount of time for each task and interaction will be an essential job function and adhering to the UK HealthCare Values during interactions with patients, coworkers, and physicians, as well as all external and internal customers will also be essential. Maintaining privacy and confidentiality is required.

The starting pay for this position was recently adjusted based on current demand for this role. The minimum hourly rate for this position will now be $29.95/hour. All pay rates will be based on candidate’s experience.

Exciting new opportunity to work weekends at a premium pay rate. This position requires staff to work 2, 12-hour shifts each weekend, consisting of two morning or two evening shifts (specific hours vary by unit and must fall within policy). Weekend Premium Pay (WEPP) staff accrue vacation leave totaling 4 weekends per year. Skills / Knowledge / Abilities CT experience, patient care, excellent communication skills.

Preferred Education/Experience Associate’s degree plus one or more years CT experience preferred.
