This High-Performance Computing (HPC) Manager candidate will provide Raytheon Digital Technology High Performance Computing Administration in a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows and Red Hat Enterprise Linux environment. This candidate will possess a very deep level of hardware, software, and operating system management.

This position is an onsite role at our Tucson, Arizona location. Relocation support will be provided to the selected applicant if they meet company policy eligibility requirements.

What You Will Do:
  • Work as a lead technical individual contributor in a fast-paced program environment.
  • Support, advise, develop, and implement new technologies based upon industry best practices.
  • Use troubleshooting techniques to resolve technical problems at a high complexity and includes validation and integration of High-Performance Computing hardware, software, and operating systems (OS) before deployment.
  • Advanced understanding of software tools, automated scripts, batch schedulers, hardware, system health, and system-level troubleshooting, to lead and support the engineering and DT community.
  • Perform OS and hardware tuning to maximize system performance on high performance computing systems. Work across DT functions to standardize processes and procedures.
  • Work with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security compliance requirements.
  • Provide documentation and training on advanced DT HPC processes and procedures. Be a mentor to junior team members.
  • Provide subject matter expert support for HPC team members as well as Engineering end users.
  • Must be able to obtain required Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification and an Operating System Certification) within 6 months of hire date.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • The role typically requires a bachelor's degree (prefer but not limited to STEM major), plus 10 years of experience, or in lieu of degree, 14 years of relevant experience is required. Master's degree with 8 years' experience will also be considered.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Experience in Windows and or Linux Server Environments including directory services management, and system hardening.
  • Experience with High Performance Computing scheduling and monitoring tools.

Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively work with and communicate High Performance Computing needs with the customer at all levels of management and with individual contributors on the program team.
  • Strong written, verbal and executive level presentation skills; ability to decompose, document, and communicate architecture rationale, approach, design, and governance with Engineering and DT
  • Experience in project leadership and management in a DT domain
  • Experience with scripting for automated tasks
  • Extensive experience with diagnosing software and hardware issues with high-speed interconnect fabric, network, compute nodes, job schedulers and Engineering tools
  • Advanced experience with Windows and Linux security hardening, systems integrations, troubleshooting, and authentication service integration
  • Advanced Operating System management experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux
  • Advanced knowledge of High-Performance Computing scheduling and monitoring tools such as SLURM, Ganglia, Grafana and front-end HPC web portals to include Open OnDemand.
  • Possess an understanding of Digital Engineering principles including Model Based System Engineering, DevOps/DevSecOps pipelines (Software Factory), containerization and Agile Development Methodologies.
  • Experience with automation and management through OpenShift and Ansible.
  • Knowledge and experience with application/infrastructure deployment and support in one or more of the major cloud environments.
  • Red Hat Certified System Administrator or Red Hat Certified Engineer
  • An active and transferable DoD Secret or Top Secret Clearance..

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
