The Dispatch Officer's typical duties include: performing law enforcement-related communications; operating the computer-aided dispatch system; monitoring and using multi-line telecommunications and radio communications; determining the type and level of response necessary: accomplishing timely and effective dispatch of emergency response units; monitoring the safety of responding units, and retrieving information from local, state and federal information systems.
