About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking an experienced investment banking professional at the Vice President level to join the Corporate and Investment Bank's Diverse Segments Group. The Diverse Segments Group is focused on providing a full array of investment banking services (relationship management, transaction origination and execution) to businesses that are owned and/or led by diverse principals. In this role, you will:
  • Lead complex initiatives as a significant contributor, including those that are cross-functional and have broad impacts for CIB and, more broadly, the Wells Fargo Enterprise
  • Analyze and assess the strategic and financial needs of clients and prospects within the context of their unique industry and sector dynamics
  • Leverage a strong financial skill set and extensive knowledge of investment banking analytical frameworks
  • Lead exercises in idea generation and content creation that result in the delivery of high value-add services related to mergers & acquisitions and the capital markets
  • Focus on providing investment banking services to diverse owned and led businesses across various industries
  • Make decisions in complex and multi-faceted situations that require an understanding of the Banking operating framework (e.g. policies, procedures, and compliance requirements) while leading broader working groups to meet the highest standards of risk management
  • Collaborate and consult with a broad range of Banking colleagues at all levels to resolve issues and achieve goals
  • Train, coach and mentor junior bankers in skill development, client interaction, and interaction with CIB coverage partners

They are accountable for execution of all applicable risk programs (Credit, Market, Financial Crimes, Operational, Regulatory Compliance), which includes effectively following and adhering to applicable Wells Fargo policies and procedures, appropriately fulfilling risk and compliance obligations, timely and effective escalation, and remediation of issues, and making sound risk decisions. There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit's risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.

Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of Investment Banking experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
  • Sound analytical skills with an advanced understanding of finance and accounting concepts
  • Demonstrated ability in executing deal level activity including, but not limited to, merger and acquisitions and capital raising transactions
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal skills
  • Dedication to maintaining high quality/detail-oriented work standards and adherence to stringent deadlines; willingness to take on significant responsibility
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Comfortable functioning both independently and as part of a team
Job Expectations:
  • Registration for FINRA SIE, Series 79, and Series 63 (or 66) must be completed within 120 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted
  • Ability to work more than 40 hours per week
