General Description

We're on the hunt for a talented Consultant Cost Estimator to join our expanding National team! In this role, you'll specialize in construction claims and litigation support, where you'll become a key player in delivering precise and comprehensive cost estimates for construction deficiencies, building damage, and reconstruction projects in occupied spaces. Your expertise will be instrumental in guiding our clients through complex challenges and making a real impact on their success.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough evaluations of construction deficiencies through analyzing, as built conditions, forensic reports, building plans and other relevant information.
  • Perform detailed cost estimates for occupied space reconstruction projects.
  • Solicit pricing from trades, vendors, and pricing databases to ensure cost estimates are based upon current market pricing.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to peer review cost estimates and asses on site means and methods for repair.
  • Conduct quantity takeoffs utilizing construction drawings and computer takeoff software
  • Collaborate with legal teams, expert witnesses, and other professionals involved in construction defect litigation cases.
  • Stay updated on current construction practices, materials, and costs to ensure accurate estimates.
  • Assist in deposition and trial preparations relating to your work product.
  • Conduct site visits to assess reported construction deficiencies, jobsite conditions, quantify repair work, take photographs, and gather necessary data for cost estimates.
  • Maintain accurate records, including cost databases, reference materials, and relevant case.

Key Selection Criteria:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, OnScreen Takeoff, BlueBeam, or similar estimating software tools.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey technical information to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
  • Willingness to travel to construction sites within and outside of Colorado and attend mediations, depositions, trials, and client meetings as required.
  • Experience and Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, and, or
  • 3-5 years of experience in the construction industry, reconstruction preferred.
