Job Description:

Summary

The Project Management Supervisor will oversee the Field Service activities and Installation activities for the Houston-based projects, reporting to the Houston Director of Operations. Field Service Technicians, Installation Technicians, Field Services Coordinator, and Installation Project Manager will report directly to the Project Management Supervisor. This is an exempt position, not eligible for overtime.

Responsibilities

  • Track installation project schedules, milestones and timelines for adherence to delivery targets.
  • Supervise Project Management and Field Service team ensuring project objectives and organizational goals are met.
  • Lead project teams with department managers, which may include electrical, software, mechanical, and manufacturing engineers; sourcing; materials management; sales management; pre-production and production employees; suppliers and outside contractors.
  • Ensure that all safety and quality adherence is maintained.
  • Manage installation projects as assigned/required.
  • Track, update, & share accurate project forecast & timeline with department heads.
  • Manage labor resources on a weekly basis to efficiently allocate manpower where needed.
  • Coordinate with Danville PM team weekly or as needed where additional support is required.
  • Guide and train PM, Coordinator, Installers, and Field Service Technicians to enforce project standardizations.
  • Regularly attend training on subjects important to Watchfire and stay informed of industry practices and standards.
  • Ensure that all notes and calendars are entered into Pyro and Salesforce.
  • Make day-to-day decisions for the field installation and service department.
  • Establish costing reports for projects.
  • Be a resource of information on all projects.
  • Stand, walk, stoop, kneel, & crouch in and around tightly configured spaces on jobsites. Occasionally lift and carry 10 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move 50 pounds.
  • Travel for job site visits and contractor meetings may be required.
  • Hours are daytime M-F. NOTE: Travel and tight deadlines may require additional hours outside this period.

Required Qualifications/Skills:

  • Good verbal and written communication skills, collaboration and working across teams.
  • Strong experience with computers, internet, smart phone/tablet, Autodesk software (Inventor, Vault), Salesforce/CRM software and Microsoft software (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to read and/or comprehend architectural drawings.
  • Previous experience leading a team comprised of both direct and indirect reports.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills with an engineering mindset are an advantage.

Required Education and Licensing

  • Bachelor's degree is preferred, ideally in Project Management, Business, Communication OR
  • Minimum 5-7 years related project management experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 6 CEUs in Project Management, Construction, or AIA within the previous two years is advantageous.
