Introduction

Visium Resources has been asked to identify qualified candidates for this Electrical Project Manager position. This position is a contract to direct hire opportunity (with a potential to begin Full-Time/direct from day one) and will be on-site in Orlando, FL. This position is expected to roll into a direct position with client, in a period of 6 months or less.

Electrical Project Manager Summary:

The primary purpose of an Electrical Project Management position is to ensure the successful delivery of electrical projects by efficiently managing resources, mitigating risks, adhering to standards and regulations, fostering collaboration among customers, and ultimately meeting client expectations while maintaining high-quality standards in electrical installations or systems, and safety.

Oversees all aspects of electrical projects from inception to completion., the electrical project manager plays a crucial role in ensuring that electrical projects are completed successfully, on time, and within budget while meeting quality and safety standards.

Electrical Project Manager Requirements:

1. Project Estimating & Planning: During Estimating phase, Support Estimator in developing project budgets, project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation. Support customer questions, site walkdowns, technical questions, or other estimating & planning tasks needing project management support. At project award, Participate in Handover process with Estimator.

2. Budget Management: Manage budgets, and ensure projects are completed within budget constraints. Forecast costs, and control expenses to maximize efficiency. Provide cost projections for the project as required for internal & customer reporting.

3. Resource Management: Allocate resources such as manpower, equipment, and materials effectively to ensure timely project completion. Ensure labor, material, tools, and equipment needs are met for each project.

4. Team Leadership: Lead and manage the project team, which includes electricians, engineers, subcontractors and suppliers to ensure efficient project execution. Ensure all safety protocols and standards are followed on and off job site.

5. Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, minimizing disruptions to project timelines and quality, ensuring safety and compliance with regulations.

6. Coordination: Coordinate with other teams or departments involved in the project, such as architects, contractors, vendors, subcontractors, and owners or clients and their representatives.

7. Quality Control: Monitor work quality to ensure it meets project specifications and industry standards.

8. Progress Monitoring: Track project progress, identifying delays or issues, and implementing corrective actions as needed. Ensure timely completion of projects for customer deadlines.

9. Manage Accounts Receivable: generate invoices and/or progress billings, follow up on overdue payments, maintain good client relationships to ensure payments are made on schedule.

10. Manage Accounts Payable: maintain positive relationships with vendors, handle inquiries and discrepancies with purchasing dept, and provide regular reporting in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.

9. Client & Management Communication: Provide regular updates and comprehensive reports on project progress to management and clients. Manage client expectations during project planning.

10. Documentation: Maintain accurate project documentation, including: cost projections, contracts, plans, submittals, permits, pay applications, progress reports, RFIs, change orders, as-builts, O&M manuals, and warranties as required

11. Compliance: Ensure compliance with electrical codes, regulations, and safety standards throughout the project lifecycle.

12. Commissioning and Handover: Oversee commissioning activities and ensuring a smooth handover of the completed electrical systems to the client. Conduct Project Closeout including change orders, purchase orders, extra work, and claims are completed.

13. Post-Project Evaluation: Conducting post-project evaluations to identify lessons learned and areas for improvement.

Additional Duties:

  • Evaluate project performance and outcomes, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance project as well as organizational efficiency and quality,
  • Represent Carter Electric in a professional manner.
  • Support business development & customer relations on request

Electrical Project Manager Requirements:

Education: High School Diploma

Experience:

  • Construction estimating: 1 year (Required)
  • Project management: 1 year (Required)
  • Microsoft Outlook: 1 year (Required)
  • Bluebeam: 1 year (Preferred)

Site visits frequently required, list details of site conditions to be encountered (hard hat, work boots, hot weather, use of PPE, lifting requirements, etc.)
