Job Description:

Supreme Industries is seeking a qualified Assistant Project Manager, based out of our headquarters in Harwinton, CT and to support operations throughout the northeast. This position assists and acts as a liaison between project management, field crews, office staff, and sometimes the client for a specific project until the completion of that project. Position works with and assists Project Management to complete projects on time and within budget, while surpassing the quality required and expected by the owner. Monitors activities at the construction sites and is responsible for the successful completion of assigned operations and long-term projects.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
  • Understand project specifications and verify compliance
  • Tracking and monitoring of project cost, staffing, and program documentation
  • Assist in oversight of safety, quality, and budget for multiple projects at any given time
  • Develop, maintain, and update project schedule by monitoring progress, coordinating activities, and resolving problems
  • Assist with material procurement; ensure materials meet owner specifications and are procured when needed
  • Prepare project status reports and work to ensure work adheres to contract specifications
  • Knowledgeable regarding project contracts and subcontracts
  • Develop and maintain positive relations with owners
  • Draft RFIs as questions/discrepancies arise
  • Prepare project submittals as required
  • Coach and develop staff
  • Carry out job duties while maintaining the Supreme values
  • And other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
  • BS in Construction Management or related is preferred but not mandatory
  • 2+ years of experience in civil construction is highly desired
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel and Word
  • Must have excellent team building skills
  • Problem solving and analytical skills
  • Strong prioritization and organizational skills; detail-oriented
  • Familiar with grading, drainage, temporary bridges, retaining walls, and other civil construction scopes
