My client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Software Development Manager to lead their development team at a utility company headquartered in Duluth, Georgia. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in C# and .NET technologies and proven experience in managing software development teams. You will be responsible for overseeing the full software development life cycle, ensuring the timely delivery of projects, and working closely with cross-functional teams. Additionally, the candidate should be comfortable with presenting technical information to stakeholders, both technical and non-technical.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage a team of software developers, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback.
Collaborate with other departments to define project requirements, timelines, and deliverables.
Oversee the design, development, testing, and deployment of applications using C# and .NET technologies.
Ensure adherence to software development best practices and company standards.
Identify areas for process improvement and optimize the development workflow.
Present project updates, technical solutions, and strategies to stakeholders, including executive leadership.
Work closely with product management to prioritize and scope projects in alignment with business goals.
Stay updated on the latest trends and technologies in software development, especially related to the utility industry.
Troubleshoot, debug, and provide solutions to complex technical issues when needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
6+ years of experience in C# and .NET development.
3+ years of experience managing software development teams.
Strong knowledge of software architecture, design patterns, and best practices.
Experience with Agile or Scrum development methodologies.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Demonstrated leadership and team management skills, including the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Experience in the utility sector or with utility software solutions is a plus, but not required.
Additional Skills (Preferred but not required):
Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS) and modern DevOps practices.
Experience with database technologies such as SQL Server or NoSQL solutions.
Understanding of cybersecurity principles and their application in software development.
