Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Category Specialist to join our procurement team. The Category Specialist will focus on managing indirect categories, which include but are not limited to IT, facilities management, office supplies, marketing services, and professional services. This role involves strategic sourcing, vendor management, and process optimization to ensure we achieve cost savings and operational efficiency across these categories.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Category Management: Develop and implement category strategies for indirect categories to drive value and optimize spending. Analyze market trends, supplier performance, and industry best practices to inform decision-making.
  • Strategic Sourcing: Conduct sourcing activities, including RFPs, RFQs, and negotiations. Identify and engage with potential suppliers, assess proposals, and recommend the best options based on cost, quality, and delivery.
  • Vendor Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers. Monitor and evaluate supplier performance, address any issues, and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and service level agreements (SLAs). Ensure that all agreements meet company standards and legal requirements.
  • Spend Analysis: Analyze spending patterns and identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement. Develop and maintain reports and dashboards to track performance and savings.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal stakeholders, including finance, operations, and department heads, to understand their needs and align procurement strategies with business objectives.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement best practices and process improvements within the procurement function. Drive initiatives that enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and relevant regulations. Conduct regular audits and assessments to maintain adherence to procurement standards.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CPSM, CIPS) are a plus.
  • 3+ years of experience in procurement, category management, or a related role, with a focus on indirect categories.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
  • Proven experience in strategic sourcing and vendor management.
  • Excellent negotiation and contract management skills.
