Job Description:

ICL USA, a division of the ICL Group of companies, is a Global and Domestic Freight Forwarding Company headquartered in Lynbrook, NY. ICL USA offers, ocean and air, import and export, customs brokerage services, Time Critical, Domestic Transportation, and warehousing third party solutions services. We are seeking to hire a most experienced Operations Director to join our growing team. Position reports to the president, and to the Global CEO of the group.

POSITION SUMMARY

This Director Operation position oversees every aspect of Freight Forwarding operation. This position requires extensive background and experiences in both import and export, air and ocean, and responsible for overseeing day to day operation, creating SOP, provide training, configuration of operating system to suit process, monitor processes and workflow, managing the level of operation and service level to the company's expectation, manage BPO operation, and hiring/disciplinary action.

Essential Job Functions
• Lead and manage Ocean Import, Air Import, Ocean Export, Air Export, Domestic, Time Critical, and Key Accounts departments, with strong leadership skills and mentorship.
• Must possess full understanding and experience of the Import and Export Regulations or other government agency regulations that govern Imports and Exports.
• Collaborate closely with staff to coordinate account activities and ensure successful operations and customer satisfaction.
• Deliver results by leveraging the skills of the relevant team members.
• Lead resolution by example.
• Effective negotiation tactics.
• Manage communication strategy within accounts and service partners.
• Identify new service partners as required, nationwide.
• Maintain a high degree of motivation in team members to retain focus of providing highest levels of customer satisfaction.
• Provide ongoing growth and development opportunities.
• Proactively manage accounts by constantly assessing changes to the business needs and ongoing market changes.
• Identity any potential risks and develop best solutions.
• Escalate any unresolved issues or risks before it occurs.
• Work closely with all departments to deliver the highest levels of service.
• Effectively manage change.
• Develop relevant internal and external metrics to measure performance.
• Recommend and implement system changes and improvements.

Ensure profitability for the company.

EDUCATIONAL
• Bachelor's degree (Business, Logistics and Supply Chain, or associate field), or equivalent combination of education and work experience will be considered in lieu of educational requirement
• Completion of any industry related course is an asset

Qualifications Needed:
• Minimum Ten years related experience in freight forwarding.
• Minimum five years of managerial experience required.
• Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Intermediate to Advanced PC skills - MS Office with Excel included.
• Highly organized
• Works well under pressure.
• Professional and courteous demeanor.
• Displays a flexible and open-minded willingness to adapt to new environments. Adapt to change.
• Be a TEAM player.
• Must have strong ethical standards
