We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Project Specialist with experience in Ocean Import and Air Handling Projects, including Out-of-Gauge (OOG) and other complex cargo projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the logistics of import operations, managing multimodal transportation projects, and ensuring the seamless execution of project timelines. This role requires a deep understanding of ocean and air freight operations, as well as the ability to handle specialized cargo projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Ocean Import Coordination: Manage and oversee ocean import operations, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements. Coordinate with carriers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers to ensure timely and efficient cargo movement.
Air Freight Project Management: Handle air freight logistics for time-sensitive and specialized projects. Coordinate air shipments, ensuring that all documentation and handling requirements are met.
Out-of-Gauge (OOG) and Specialized Cargo Handling: Manage projects involving OOG and other non-standard cargo. Collaborate with engineering teams, carriers, and other stakeholders to develop transportation solutions for oversized or heavy cargo.
Multimodal Transportation: Coordinate the seamless integration of ocean, air, and land transportation for complex projects. Ensure that all aspects of the supply chain are synchronized to meet project deadlines.
Stakeholder Communication: Maintain clear and consistent communication with clients, vendors, and internal teams. Provide regular updates on project status, address any issues that arise, and ensure client satisfaction.
Documentation Management: Prepare and maintain all necessary documentation, including bills of lading, import/export paperwork, and compliance records. Ensure accuracy and completeness of all project-related documents.
Problem Resolution: Proactively identify potential issues in the logistics process and develop solutions to mitigate risks. Address any operational challenges that arise during the transportation process.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in ocean import operations and air freight logistics.
Familiarity with handling Out-of-Gauge (OOG) and specialized cargo projects.
Strong understanding of multimodal transportation and project logistics.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Proficiency in project management tools and logistics software.
Knowledge of relevant import/export regulations and compliance requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in the logistics or freight forwarding industry.
Certifications in project management or logistics (e.g., PMP, CILT) are a plus.
Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
