We are seeking an experienced Director of Operations with a strong background in network engineering to oversee the operational aspects of our company, with a specific focus on managing our network-based security infrastructure.
Position Summary:
The Director of Operations (Network Engineer) will play a crucial role in overseeing daily operations and the design, implementation, and maintenance of our network-based systems, including security cameras and access control, as well as supporting the integration of these systems into our security guard operations. This individual will work closely with internal teams and clients to ensure that all network-based security systems are reliable, secure, and meet the operational needs of American Surveillance Co., Inc. in the Rio Grande Valley area.
Key Responsibilities: • Operations Management: • Oversee and manage the daily operations of the company, with a particular emphasis on network-based security systems, including security cameras, access control, IT infrastructure, and integration with our security guard services. • Lead and supervise technical teams, including network engineers, IT specialists, and operational staff. • Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and best practices to enhance efficiency and productivity across departments. • Network Engineering: • Design, deploy, and manage network infrastructure that supports security cameras, access control systems, and other network-dependent technologies. • Ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of all network-based security systems. • Troubleshoot network issues related to security systems, ensuring high uptime, connectivity, and security. • Lead projects to upgrade, expand, or optimize network infrastructure, including hardware and software for security cameras and access control systems. • Security Camera and Access Control Systems: • Oversee the implementation and management of all network-based security cameras and access control systems. • Ensure that all security and access control systems are operational, secure, and comply with industry standards. • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to develop and customize security solutions based on unique needs. • Regularly evaluate and audit security system performance, making adjustments and improvements where necessary. • Security Guard Operations: • Support the integration of network-based security systems with our security guard operations to enhance the overall effectiveness of security personnel services. • Coordinate with security personnel to ensure they are properly trained on using security cameras, access control, and other network-based systems. • Compliance and Regulatory Standards: • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including the standards set by the Texas Department of Public Safety for security systems, surveillance, access control, and security guard services. •• Project Management: • Manage and oversee network and security-related projects, ensuring timely completion within scope and budget. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure network systems integrate seamlessly with other technologies and meet security standards. • Strategic Planning: • Collaborate with executive leadership to develop long-term strategies for the improvement of network infrastructure, security systems, and security guard services. • Identify opportunities to enhance the performance, reliability, and security of network-based systems, particularly security cameras and access control. • Vendor and Budget Management: • Manage relationships with third-party vendors for network hardware, software, security systems, and access control technologies. • Develop and manage budgets related to operational and network infrastructure, ensuring cost efficiency while maintaining high performance.
Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. Master's degree preferred. • 8+ years of experience in network engineering or IT operations, with at least 3 years in a leadership role. • Strong experience with network-based security systems, including IP cameras, video management systems, and access control technologies. • Knowledge of network architecture, including LAN, WAN, VPN, and wireless technologies. • Proficiency in network security protocols and systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption. • Proven track record managing large-scale IT or security system projects. • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage cross-functional teams. • Familiarity with Texas Department of Public Safety regulations for security systems, access control, and security guard operations. • Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or security certifications (e.g., CISSP) are highly desirable.
