Description:
The Vice President of Healthcare Information Systems will lead the planning, implementation, and management of all healthcare IT systems and technology projects. This role involves working closely with clinical, operational, and administrative teams to ensure IT solutions are effectively integrated into clinical workflows, streamline operations, and enhance patient care. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of healthcare IT systems, regulatory requirements, and best practices in information management. They will lead a team focused on growth, consolidation, standardization, and continuous improvement of our healthcare technology platform.


Key Responsibilities:

• Strategically plan and execute healthcare IT initiatives, including EMR/EHR implementation, HIE integration, data analytics, and interoperability solutions.


• Provide leadership and direction to the IT team, aligning their efforts with organizational goals and industry best practices.


• Collaborate with clinical and operational stakeholders to assess IT needs, prioritize projects, and develop technology roadmaps that support business objectives and improve patient care.


• Oversee the selection, customization, and implementation of EMR/EHR and practice management systems, ensuring they integrate seamlessly with clinical workflows and comply with regulations.


• Develop and implement data analytics solutions to support data-driven decision-making, quality improvement, and population health management.


• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements like HIPAA, HITECH, and Meaningful Use, maintaining the confidentiality, integrity, and security of electronic health information.


• Build and maintain relationships with external vendors, partners, and regulatory agencies to stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes.


• Manage departmental budgets, control costs, and optimize resource allocation to deliver high-quality IT services and support.


• Provide leadership, mentorship, and professional development opportunities to the IT team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.


• Monitor vendor performance against SLAs and KPIs, identifying areas for improvement and driving continuous service enhancements.


• Work with vendors to troubleshoot technical issues, resolve escalated support tickets, and coordinate software upgrades, patches, and maintenance activities to minimize downtime and ensure system reliability.


• Lead the vendor selection process, evaluating vendor capabilities, product offerings, pricing, and service levels to ensure they meet organizational needs.

Education and Experience:

• A Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Computer Systems, Business Administration, or a related field is required. A Master's degree or equivalent experience is preferred.


• At least 8 years of experience in IT operations management, with a focus on healthcare systems solutions and delivery.


• A minimum of 5 years of experience working in mid-size enterprises ($500M - $2B) is required.
