Apprentice Printer
State of Connecticut Judicial Branch
Enfield

The State of Connecticut Judicial Branch is seeking an Apprentice Printer for the Commission of Official Legal Publications (COLP). This individual would be responsible for assisting with daily production. We seek a hardworking and reliable candidate with strong attention to detail and accuracy who takes pride in producing a quality work product. Training will be provided to the selected individual.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
• Operation of digital high-speed printers.
• Processing of Branch wide mail using inserting equipment.
• Setup of press jobs using imposition software and plate processing.
• Manual bindery operations.
• Packaging and mailing using FedEx, USPS, and State Courier Service.
• Set-up, adjustment, operation, and maintenance of various printing equipment.
• Operate all bindery related duties, to include folding, cutting, stitching, drilling, banding      and boxing.
• Perform general maintenance and repairs.
• Produce quality printed work according to established production standards.
• Sharp eye for detail.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Maintain regular attendance.

Salary Range: $46,330 - $58,951/year – plus State of Connecticut benefits.

New employees begin at the minimum.  The starting salary for existing state employees may be higher than the minimum, in accordance with existing Judicial Branch policy.

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING: 

GENERAL EXERIENCE: Graduation from high school or technical school or any combination of education, experience and training that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
