The Operations Manager will be responsible for all aspects of management for the Colgate processing facilities and the Shuttle operation that operates between the 2 sites. Ensure all KPI’s and metrics for the sites are met and the sustainable profitability goals are met and maintained.
Responsibilities
Site Safety & Planning
Ensuring the site is not in violation of Company, Customer, or OSHA rules
Planning monthly safety training
All PPE is used as instructed
Compliance with D.O.T. regulations
Labor Planning
Plan labor to follow production or customer needs
Utilize labor for VAS (value added services)
Remove excessive labor for profitability and efficiency
Track and train associates to maximize utilization
Assist in driver retention and turnover
Discipline/Coaching
Must enforce company disciplinary standards when needed and document any and all instances accordingly
Must keep all disciplinary documentation and update HR with all records
KPI Performance Set Up and Monitoring
Identify and record performance measurements to align with customers’ goals or needs
Provide format for recording measurements and update as needed to reach goals
Add or remove goals to challenge operations to better serve the customer
Site Layout, Space Management, Organization Chart, Procedures (such as sop, work instructions, flow diagrams)
Assist management and engineering with site layout
Continuously monitor space needs consolidating when possible
Monitor P & L monthly and make necessary adjustments to sustain profitability
Develop Staff by Cross Training/On-Job Training
Train, motivate and assist in the development and growth of employees
Implement and maintain continuous improvement program
Challenge employees to be more productive
Coach performance and recognize assigned team of associates
Issue Necessary Reports to Customer/Liaison
Provide reports based on customers’ needs
Capture relevant information to be used during review periods
Qualifications
Requires eyesight and hearing for computer and forklifts in the area
Requires color-sight for color-coded items, clear speech for communicating
Ability to hear, see, and speak; in person, or by computer, telephone, 2-way radio, cell phone
Hazardous material, fast-paced environment, exposure to falling objects and forklift traffic
Strong analytical and problem solving ability
5 to 7 Years leadership experience in Distribution, Logistics or Supply chain Management required
Food grade facility experience, a plus
Account management experience, a plus
P & L management
Know or be able to learn WMS and customer ERP if necessary
Knowledge of Microsoft Office software required
HighJump WMS experience, a plus
SAP experience, a plus
