Position Overview:

The Senior Construction Superintendent will oversee all aspects of construction operations on multiple job sites. This role is responsible for ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety. The Senior Construction Superintendent will lead a team of assistants and subcontractors, coordinate with the Construction PM, and serve as a key point of contact for clients and stakeholders.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Oversight: Manage and supervise all phases of construction projects, including planning, scheduling, and execution to ensure timely completion and adherence to project specifications.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of Assistant Construction Superintendents and other site personnel, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement and enforce quality control procedures to maintain the highest standards of workmanship and compliance with building codes and regulations.
  • Safety Management: Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and regulations, conducting regular safety meetings and inspections to maintain a safe job site.
  • Budget and Cost Control: Monitor project budgets, manage costs, and oversee procurement of materials and equipment to ensure financial efficiency.
  • Client Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing their concerns, providing updates, and ensuring their expectations are met or exceeded.
  • Problem Solving: Proactively identify and resolve issues related to construction processes, site conditions, and project requirements to minimize delays and disruptions.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and detailed project documentation, including daily logs, progress reports, and compliance records. Prepare and submit reports to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Coordination: Work closely with Project Manager, Architects, Engineers, and subcontractors to ensure seamless integration of project plans and specifications.

 

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in construction management, with a proven track record of successfully managing large and complex projects.

Skills:

  • Strong leadership and organizational skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and effective communication skills.

Technical Knowledge:

  • In-depth understanding of construction methods, materials, and safety standards. Proficiency with construction management software and tools.

Certifications:

  • OSHA certification or equivalent safety training is required.
