Job Title: Business Analyst/Consultant IV (Mainframe Application Focus)
Location: Remote (Candidate MUST be a Wisconsin resident)
Duration: Through 6/30/2025 with possible extensions
Who We're Looking For: We are seeking a highly experienced Business Analyst to support the analysis and documentation of business systems with a primary focus on mainframe applications. This senior-level role requires a deep understanding of complex business systems and the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with both business and technical team
Responsibilities:
Business Systems Analysis: Review, analyze, and evaluate existing business systems and user needs with a focus on mainframe applications.
Documentation: Document complex business and software systems, including asset inventories for existing software and systems, with emphasis on mainframe-based applications.
System Transformation Support: Assist with system transformation efforts by mapping business processes to supporting system assets such as applications, data sets, interfaces, batch processes, and reports.
Collaboration: Work with subject matter experts (SMEs) from both business and technology teams to document connections between assets and business processes.
Metadata Documentation: Assist SMEs in documenting important metadata associated with assets to streamline the transition from mainframe-based systems to web-based systems.
Communication: Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills to effectively convey technical and business information.
Qualifications:
10+ years in business systems analysis, with proven experience documenting complex business and software systems.
Communication: Strong communication skills with experience working across business and technical teams.
CE Access Tools: Familiarity with CE Access tools for impact analysis, identifying integrations, and data sets in mainframe-based systems. The CE stands for Common Enterprise, it is related to "CASE" modeling and app dev. The CE access tools they are looking for are CA-GEN Repository Browser, CA Gen Impact Analysis Tool, CA Gen Repository Query Tool, CA Gen Model Viewer, CA Gen Impact Analyze.
CICS: Experience with Customer Information Control System (CICS).
Technical Writing: Emphasis on bridging communication between business and technical needs of cross-functional teams.
Visio: Ability to understand, update, and create process diagrams in Microsoft Visio.
CE Access: Experience with CE Access.
Architecture Diagrams: Experience creating and maintaining architecture diagrams.
Mainframe Development: Experience with CA-GEN, Cobol, batch processing using JCL, TSO, ISPF.
Web Services: Development experience with SOAP and/or REST web services.
