The Electrical Field Service Technician will travel (up to 30%) to customer sites to install, commission, and train on electrical control systems and supervisory software. While not travelling, if local, work duties will include configuration and bench testing of equipment, supporting customers with troubleshooting calls, and supporting production efforts with panel layouts and wiring.
Electrical Field Engineer Responsibilities
Troubleshooting (remote and onsite) to resolve operational/technical issues with microprocess based industrial control systems
Supervise/oversee control installations; either customer employees or contract labor.
Start up and commissioning of control systems in the field
Facilitate operational and maintenance training at customer sites and at our office
Install, commission, and troubleshoot Windows based SCADA
Initialize and troubleshoot PC networks
Read and interpret electrical and electronic circuit blueprints, diagrams, and schematics.
Document the issues with troubleshooting and installations, and remedies which will be helpful in future
Share issues found in the field with the technical team
Ensure in providing a safe work environment
Report writing and documentation post field work
Communicate efficiently and effectively with all parties involved
Willing to learn the industry and help us maintain and grow our marketplace position
Attend business meetings and trainings as required
Follow and adhere to Company policies, procedures, and guidelines
Perform other administrative duties, tasks and special projects as assigned
Electrical Field Engineer Requirements
Two years or more of higher education preferred
30% travel availability for US/Canada travel with occasional drug testing required
2+ years of related experience required
Experience with high-voltage equipment and safety standards required
Ability to read electrical drawings required
Comfortable with multimeters, oscilloscopes, etc. required
Effectively work and communicate on multiple projects independently and with others in all technical aspects including coworkers, customers, and suppliers required
AutoCAD drawing creation experience preferred
Experience at industrial facilities (power plants, paper mills, etc.) preferred
Strong working knowledge of Google Docs/Suite and MS Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint required
