A growing manufacturing company is looking to hire an EHS Manager for their facility in the Seneca Knolls, NY area. Reporting directly to the plant General Manager, with a close working relationship with the corporate EHS team, the ideal candidate will have a hands-on approach, strong leadership skills, the ability to influence and engage at various levels of a business.
The Role:
Provides leadership and technical support for on-going safety projects, problem solving, investigations including site inspections and audits, and safety activities
Assist in developing an effective EHS communication process to make EHS priorities and performance visible
Manages one direct report
Oversees incident and near miss investigation process to identify root causes; leads safety training, audits and inspections; develops programs for fire protection, industrial hygiene, contractor safety, etc.
The Candidate:
Bachelor's Degree in Health, Safety or similar, related discipline is preferred but not required
3+ years of experience in safety roles, within the paper, pulp or packaging industry, or similar high-risk manufacturing environments
Ability to influence and engage at all levels
Project management skills to include the ability to develop and implement safety processes
