Brief Description:

Under broad guidance, the Automotive Superintendent is responsible for coordinating, organizing, and supervising the activities of the Automotive Shop’s activities, including preventive maintenance and overseeing Shop Foremen in the repair and maintenance of automotive and engine-powered equipment. The role also involves researching and preparing budget and procurement requests for vehicles, equipment, and emergency generators, as well as assisting in the selection and procurement of generator replacements and new construction projects. Additionally, the Superintendent troubleshoots and provides expertise on engine operation and automotive repairs while maintaining effective communication with internal and external contacts.

Job Requirements:

Education Required • High School Diploma or GED Desired • Associate’s in applied science in Automotive Technology or related field.   Experience  Required • Minimum of 8 years’ technical experience in the automotive/maintenance and fleet management field. • Minimum 4 years’ experience leading and working with teams, planning and implementing work projects and schedules. Desired • Minimum of 4 years in fleet management of a medium-sized fleet (over 100 vehicles).   Licenses and Certifications Requirements • Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Class A endorsement including tanker. • Completion of 8 tests (Master Technicians) of the ASE Automobile of Diesel Truck areas within 4 years • EPA 609 Certification for HVAC within 1 year   HRSD is committed to being an equal opportunity employer.
