Job Description:

Arm's DFT methodology team works on DFT for projects, including soft IP, hard macros, testchips and physical library IP across all the Arm design sites. In addition, this team builds and drives DFT methodology and flows throughout all of Arm and works to get support from EDA vendors to support our methodologies.



As a DFT intern, you would be:



  • Developing scripts to automate the flows used by Arm for DFT.


  • Running experiments to verify and evaluate existing DFTflowsand tool capabilities and writing reports showcasing the results.


  • Working with senior DFT engineers to provide solutions for real technical challenges.


  • Running tools and flows on real Arm designs toverifyDFT features and perform test coverage analysis.



We are looking for individuals who:



Are currently enrolled and studying towards a Masters Degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering. Candidates with alternative degrees will also be considered if they have relevantexperience.


The successful candidate will have the following skills:


  • Knowledge in DFT fundamentals and logic design.


  • Experience with Perl, TCL, and/or Python scripting languages.


  • Proficiencyin Unix/Linux environments.


  • Good interpersonalskills with an analytical approach and adaptability and willing to learnhowto use unfamiliar tools and systems.


  • Curiosityabout technology outside of the classroom - personal projects, hackathons, or internships etc.



Qualities that will help your application stand out:



  • DFT-specific knowledge (at-speed testing, test insertion and test coverage assessment, test pattern development, scan compression, Memory BIST, Logic BIST, JTAG, IJTAG, fault simulation, debug, verification, crafting and conducting experiments/tool evaluations)


  • Experience with Siemens, Cadence and/or Synopsys DFT tools


  • Exposure to digital ASIC front and backend design & verification processes


  • Synthesis and Static Timing Analysis (STA) experience


  • Experience in using simulation and formal verification tools
