Position Overview
A successful OB/GYN Physician must be passionate about healthcare and want to make a difference in the lives of others while acting as a mission-driven catalyst to help Livingston Community Health deliver the best quality of care and excellent service to our patients and their families.
The OB/GYN Physician will provide comprehensive primary and urgent care to the female population served by LCH in accordance with the mission, vision, values and policies of the organization. The successful candidate will also perform routine obstetric and gynecological office procedures and follow-up care.

Essential Functions, Duties, andResponsibilities

Provides primary care services to Center patients including but not limited to:
The Physician will deliver direct patient care, outpatient and inpatient (hospital).Collect, record, and maintain patient information, such as medical histories, reports, and examination results.Conduct physical examinations.Order and interpret the results of laboratory, x-ray, and other tests.Perform routine office obstetric and gynecological procedures, well-woman exams.Determine and implement the appropriate course of treatment.Provide treatment plans and prescribe medications for issues/diseases of the female organs.Provide comprehensive care during pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum recovery.Provide ob/gyn services including infant delivery and related surgical procedures.Educate patients on disease prevention, detection, and reproductive health.Refers patients to medical specialists or other practitioner for specialized treatment.Adheres to the highest standards of medical ethics at all times.Assists the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) in establishing medical policies, evaluating existing policies and developing changes in policies as necessary.Requires attendance and participation in all medical Staff Meetings, Continuous Quality Improvement Meetings and Leadership Meetings as assigned.Share on-call coverage with other clinicians, abiding by coverage practices as per LCH policies and procedures.Serve as a Physician Assistant and Nurse Practitioner supervisor as assigned by the CMO.Serve as a preceptor to healthcare students. This must be approved by the CMO or designee prior to accepting a student.Conform thoroughly to the current clinical protocols and Principles of Practice, abide by scheduling decisions made by the Chief Medical Officer, Chief Operation Officer, and/or Director of Primary Care Services, and as recommended by the Board of Directors.Document and complete each encounter in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) within 72 hours.Complete all EHR tasks including medication refills within 72 hours.Provide leadership to healthcare team through positive role modeling.Other duties as assigned by the CMO.

Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Education and Experience -
Medical Degree from an accredited school.Minimum 2 years MD or DO OB/GYN experience.Completed residency training in OB/GYN at an accredited school.Experience working in a community health center preferred.

License/Certification -
Must possess an unrestricted license from the Medical Board of California.Must be Board Certified.Current CPR Certification.Poses a valid drivers license.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities -
Excellent knowledge of the principles, practice, and techniques in the physicians specialty.Is medically cleared for communicable diseases and has all immunizations up-to-date before engaging in direct patient contact.Broad knowledge base of physical, mental, and social needs of our underserved population.Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments.Knowledge of common safety hazards, infection control, and precautions to establish a safe work environment.Consistently demonstrates safe and accurate technical skills.Management and leadership.Skilled in identifying problems and recommending solutions.Able to effectively prepare and maintain electronic medical records, write reports, and respond to correspondence.Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.Ability to work with ethnically diverse populations.Ability to apply creative problem-solving skills to the complex issues that arise.Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, staff members, and family caregivers in a pleasant, patient, and professional manner.Well organized, dependable, flexible, and resourceful.Computer skills required.
