Perform measurements for First Article Inspections
Contributes to continuous improvement project work
Participate in investigations of root cause and corrective actions, implement preventative actions
Supervises CMM operators and quality inspectors.
Effectively documents and communicates results in a timely fashion working closely with Production and other Manufacturing personnel.
Responsible for gauge calibration
Participate in design reviews, new product introduction and validation
Identifies gauges and measurement techniques for new products
Manages the work in the quality lab
Support and train inspection personnel in the performance of their assigned responsibilities
Define methods and specify equipment appropriate for inspection activities
Responsible for cleanliness and organization of quality inspection and the quality lab areas.
Generate FAI reports for customers (AS9102)
Performs testing and supports data analysis.
REQUIREMENTS:
Skilled at understanding of Blueprints
Advanced knowledge of geometric tolerancing
Skilled at using of metrology hand tools and gauges
Attention to detail a must
Minimum of 5 years' experience in CMM programming
Knowledge of quality principles
Strong analytical skills and the ability to express technical concepts effectively, both written and verbally
Excellent computer skills and proficiency
Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and AS9100D
Proven communication and problem-solving skills
Education Requirements
High School Diploma and 7-10 years quality work experience preferred.
Experience in metal machining manufacturing environment

The employee is frequently required to sit and to use a computer keyboard with mouse for long periods of time. The employee will occasionally lift and/or move 25 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job in the Plant or Warehouse, the employee is exposed to noise and aluminum particles. The noise level is usually moderate, but hearing protection may be required in designated areas. The employee is required to wear safety glasses when in the plant.
