Responsibilities:
Direct highly complex and specialized construction engineering administration and inspection programs, plan and organize the work of subordinate and staff members, develop and/or review policies, methods, practices, and procedures, and review programs for conformance with client standards
Lead and direct CEI teams supporting one or more projects from multiple offices, and remote project field offices, for clients that include the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), local government agencies, and other facility owners/agencies
Planning work details and making technical decisions related to the projects; monitoring and evaluating construction schedules; reviewing Contractor claims and making presentations to the Dispute Resolution Board regarding project disputes.
Exercise independent judgment in evaluating and analyzing complex construction and design issues and providing solutions for transportation and transportation-related projects
Leading business development efforts; monitoring FDOT, local government, and other agencies' work programs; preparing proposals and making presentations; preparing, evaluating, and monitoring budgets, forecasts, and manpower estimates; determining staff needs for projects and managing CEI teams; construction contracts management and managing CEI services for diverse clients
Qualifications:
BS in Civil Engineering or related discipline
PE license in the state of Florida
10+ years of CEI experience on transportation projects serving as a project engineer, 2+ years of which must include major road and/or bridge construction projects, or 5+ of which must include major bridge construction projects
Must have the ability to direct highly complex and specialized construction administration and inspection programs
Must have effective written and verbal communication skills

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Maintain a valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for final consideration
Possess a personal vehicle for use on or around a job site
Read, write, and understand plans and directions given in the English language
Basic computer skills with the ability to create and edit Microsoft Word and Excel documents, create Outlook emails and utilize SharePoint and Microsoft Teams to communicate with other team members
Able to traverse a construction job site consisting of uneven ground varying in height and consistency of material, with a variation of elevation 19" or less (mud, gravel, rutted ground, etc.)
Able to wear GPI required PPE, i.e., hard hats, safety vest, work boots, and/or safety glasses/goggles while working
Able to move equipment or inspection specimens weighing up to 50 pounds
