Collaborate with Manufacturing Process Engineers to convert designs into technical plans. Utilize Computer Aided Design (CAD) software to create detailed equipment drawings and electrical schematics for both new and existing equipment in manufacturing facility. Identify potential operational or manufacturability issues, ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards, and create manuals that describe product operation, features, and maintenance. Responsible for communicating detailed project status to all levels.
Position Type: This position is Hybrid and typically requires 2 days per week in the office and additional days as necessary.
Pay Range: $33.69 - $38.50/hr
Responsibilities
Operate within defined timelines to create and convert equipment drawings into SolidWorks for existing and new manufacturing equipment.
Create and convert electrical schematics into standardized format for existing and new manufacturing equipment
Create and maintain CAD database parts, assemblies and other design features
Communicate and collaborate with Process Engineers to understand project designs and draft drawings that meet established criteria.
Calculate dimensions, weight limitations and material requirements
Demonstrate a high level of attention to detail and accuracy in completion of assignments and documentation
Assist in equipment builds and validation, incorporate redlines and develop detailed documentation packages
Ensure final designs comply with safety regulations and quality standards
Provide training to other personnel (production and engineering) as needed
Communicate and document observations and recommendations regarding processes and equipment to stakeholders.
Interact and communicate cross-functionally to produce cohesive efforts towards accomplishing department goals. Reinforce an environment of teamwork and collaboration
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Certification in Computer Aided Design
Preferred 2 years experience working in a manufacturing environment.
Work experience may substitute for educational requirement, per K-Tube equivalencies chart.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Minimum 3 years work experience in drafting using CAD software, preferably SolidWorks
Proficient in Product Data Management Software, preferably SolidWorks PDM
Proficient in GD&T per ASME Y14.5
Experience managing large CAD assemblies and associated drawings
Must have a good command of the English language, both written and spoken
Proficient with MS Word, Excel, Power Point
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
Light to moderate physical effort required
Regularly required to sit or stand, reach and move about the facility
Work Environment:
Work performed in both a manufacturing and office environment
Exposure to metals, lubricants, solvents, electrolytes and other hazardous materials
Professional environment requiring business casual attire
Personal Protective Equipment:
Safety glasses and safety shoes are required
Other personal safety equipment required as listed in SDS depending on task may include safety goggles, ear protection, full - face shield, apron, arm guards, rubber boots and gloves
