Position Summary:
The Senior Audiovisual (AV) Project Engineer is essential for project success, using expertise in Audiovisual (AV)/Information technology (IT) systems and the construction industry. The role requires strong project management skills, including needs analysis, proposal support, and presentation development. Key responsibilities include managing project scope, costs, schedules, and risks to ensure smooth execution from design through completion. Advanced knowledge of Audiovisual (AV)/Information technology (IT) systems and experience in preparing detailed project documentation are critical for success in this position.
Requirements
Associate degree in technology or equivalent experience.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred
4+ years’ previous experience providing design and engineering support in AV/IT industry
Must attain an AVIXA CTS certification within 6 months year and a CompTIA A+ certification within one year
Possess excellent computer skills, including expertise in operating both Windows and Apple software
Intermediate-level experience in producing draws and required documentation incorporated into architectural design packages
A current AVIXA CTS-I or CTS-D certification is preferred
Produce drawings and required documentation for inclusion into architectural design packages
Proficiency in commissioning Audiovisual (AV) and Information Technology (IT) for Audiovisual (AV) systems
Must have knowledge of the International Building Code (IBC), and National Electric Code (NEC)
Experienced in solving practical problems and handling a range of concrete variables where standardization is limited
Responsibilities
Provide support in creation of cost estimates by examining blueprints, design and other relevant materials when collaborating with project team
Prepare cost estimates by studying blueprints, plans and relevant customer documents
Effectively communicate with other personnel, including members of the sales and design team.
Helping the project team with generating budget estimates that include necessary labor resources encompass, equipment, materials and a milestone schedule
Collaborate with the project team to develop budget estimates that include required labor resources, equipment, materials, and a milestone schedule
Work in partnership with in-house design teams to develop Audiovisual (AV)/Information technology (IT) systems and room specifications for client’s spaces
Assist with the creation of various drawings necessary for Audiovisual (AV)/Information technology (IT) systems
Collaborate with the field engineers to perform diagnostic troubleshooting on Audiovisual (AV)/Information technology (IT) systems
Aid with the required testing and checkout procedures, and assembly of test results per the job’s specifications
Act as Project Lead on assigned projects as needed
Participate in an ongoing dialog with the project team ensuring system’s quality and performance meets the job’s requirements to obtain final approval by client
