Physicians provide a comprehensive range of primary and specialty care services at the 333-bed hospital and outpatient facilities both on and off of the Eskenazi Health downtown campus including at a network of Eskenazi Health Center sites located throughout Indianapolis.

Job Role Summary




The Supervisor, Translation Services leads all aspects of written translations for Eskenazi Health. This includes contributing to the accurate translation of documents, creating and updating team resources, managing the workflow of all projects, providing team trainings and ensuring timely communication with project stakeholders.



*Hybrid role - 2 days in office, 3 days wfh*





Essential Functions and Responsibilities




• Oversee all Spanish translation projects to include: accurate, grammatically correct and culturally appropriate translations; accurate record keeping through use of the Language Services tracker; monitor and manage project workflow and throughput; communicate regularly with clients and members of the Translation Services team
• Establish and manage the department benchmarks related to writing standards and project throughput; regularly review metrics and provide updates to leadership
• Facilitate the creation of, and regularly contribute to, department training documents such as glossaries, reliable resources, style guide, etc.
• Regularly translate and proofread projects based on volume; serve as the final reviewer on Spanish translations prior to returning to client
• Conducts research for translation projects as well as ongoing language and cultural awareness
• Leads team meetings as well as translation feedback and training sessions in group and one-on-one settings
• Maintains current list of reliable translation vendors; manages relationships and projects when outsourcing is necessary




Job Requirements




• Bachelor's degree or equivalent from an accredited institution; additional experience will be considered in lieu of a post-secondary school degree
At least three years of experience translating written documents from English to Spanish; experience in health care strongly preferred
• Excellent written skills in Spanish and English
• Valid Indiana driver's license that meets Eskenazi Health's driving policy requirements




Knowledge, Skills & Abilities




• Trained in medical terminology in both English and Spanish
• Bilingual and bicultural in both English and Spanish
• Possesses impeccable knowledge of spelling and grammar
• Possess strong leadership, communication and organizational skills
• Working knowledge of translation software; Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel; Adobe Acrobat
