The Role




The E37 RT team consists of RT Test Examiners and Interpreters utilizing film and computed radiography to evaluate pipe, structural welds, castings, and welder qualification specimens.


Performs non-destructive tests (NDT). Inspects metallic and nonmetallic materials, parts and assemblies for defects using automated and manual methods and techniques including radiography, ultrasound, penetrant, eddy current, laser shearography, and magnetic particle. Requires certifications in non-destructive testing in accordance with regulations.




Must Have




Associate's Degree and 6 years of relevant experience.


One of the following may be used as equivalent to Associate's Degree to meet minimum qualifications:



  • NNS Apprentice School graduate
  • Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate
  • High School/GED and 2 years related Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience
  • High School/GED and 4 years of non-related Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience


Nice to Have




Experience to include casting, pipe, and structure. Ability to clearly communicate spec requirements to suppliers. Extensive knowledge and experience (min. 10 years certified Level II RT Interpreter) in evaluation of nuclear and non-nuclear castings, pipe, and structure radiographic images. Strong communication skills and attention to detail. Requires ability to provide technical mentorship to NNS RT, weld, and manufacturing personnel as well as supplier base.
