Salary Minimum:$60,800 Salary Maximum:$76,000 This position may be eligible for 15% geographical differential raising the band to minimum $69,920 target max $87,400.

Purpose



The Resettlement Supervisor will oversee the staff and services of CWS Local Office resettlement programming, which provides newly arrived Ukrainians, Afghan SIVs, and other eligible refugee and immigrant populations with case management and resources to successfully integrate into their new community. The Resettlement Supervisor will supervise a team of case managers and work collaboratively with other departments and programs to provide high quality services to clients. The Resettlement Supervisor will be responsible for training, developing, and supporting a team of staff, providing feedback, guidance and support. This includes oversight of the case management team, who assist clients to navigate the housing market and health care system, support access to benefits, provide client education, and coordinate referrals and follow up with other service providers. In addition, this position will be responsible for the local management and reporting of the Preferred Communities and Reception & Placement grants, and ensuring the programs are in compliance. The position is responsible for ensuring all clients receive client-centered, trauma-informed services. Finally, this position will develop and maintain community partnerships throughout Northern California, to ensure clients receive a holistic set of services and referrals. This position reports to the CWS Local Office Associate Director, Programs.



Responsibilities





  • Maintain up-to-date self-education about resettlement, integration, and the Reception & Placement and Preferred Communities programs. Develop specific expertise in the grants and programs in the portfolio. Ensure staff teams are informed, as appropriate.

  • Ensure programs meet required grant guidelines and outcomes, provide high-quality client care, and maintain data and documentation per funder requirements.

  • Train and oversee staff, volunteers, and interns on how to provide high quality resettlement services to refugees, asylees, and Ukrainian humanitarian parolees.

  • Provide direct supervision, including hiring, training, setting performance goals, providing regular feedback, and completing annual performance reviews.

  • Monitor and evaluate the provision of services through regular and systematic file reviews, client interviews, and field visits, to ensure compliance with donor requirements and provision of quality services.

  • In collaboration with the Associate Director and Finance Manager, oversee the program budgets to ensure appropriate spending and financial tracking.

  • Develop and maintain necessary community relationships. Attend local refugee forums and other community meetings, meet with local community service providers and coordinate services with appropriate agencies and organizations including resettlement agencies, government benefits agencies, health clinics, and other local providers; Communicate regularly with community stakeholders to discuss resettlement challenges and barriers to services.

  • Work effectively with other CWS departments to ensure streamlined, integrated, aligned programming and referrals; Create systems for internal collaboration.

  • Sustain and grow programming through helping with grant writing, partner coordination and the growth of other resource development efforts.

  • As requested, represent CWS at internal and external conferences, meetings, committees and working groups with CWS colleagues, national Resettlement Agencies, federal partners, and other stakeholders.

  • Perform other related duties and projects as requested.




Qualifications



Education and Certifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in social work, international development, or related field required; Master's degree preferred.



Experience:


  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience delivering social service programming such as case management, job training, health and human services, and related program areas.

  • Experience working with refugees and/or with a local resettlement affiliate or a national office; similar social service experience may be substituted.

  • 2+ years of supervisory experience of a multi-person, diverse staff required.

  • Strong understanding of especially vulnerable refugees' case management needs required.

  • A track record of successful resettlement services and staff supervision required.

  • Experience supervising a program with significant case file documentation required.

  • Ability to maintain a high-performance standard with attention to detail.



Skills:


  • Excellent communication/teaching skills, both oral and written; Ability to draft reports and assist with grant writing required.

  • Excellent project and data management skills and an ability to manage a large and diverse workload under pressure and with competing priorities.

  • Strong interpersonal and diplomacy skills; ability to work collaboratively and effectively with partners and teams.

  • Ability to conduct oneself in a professional and courteous manner at all times to represent the professional and institutional interests of CWS.

  • Knowledge and experience in working with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and database software is essential.

  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment required; Ability to speak Ukrainian, Russian, Dari, Pashto, or a refugee language strongly preferred.
