Job Description:

The Floor Inspector is responsible for inspecting workpieces and assemblies at assembly

inspection

or machine station to ensure conformance to specifications.

This is a 1st shift position hours are 6am to 2pm. Hourly pay rate is $21/hr.

Primary Functions


  • Reads blueprints or engineering specifications to obtain product information such as specified material

    surface finish


    and dimensions


  • Measures dimensions such as length

    height


    and distance


    between reference points to ensure product meets specifications


  • Reports findings to the Foreman or Inspection Supervisor

    Quality Assurance


  • Inspects first run parts
  • Sets-up and tries out inspection equipment to ensure accuracy
  • Tests hardness of workpiece surface
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Mathematically inclined
  • Good computers skills with the ability to work with shop-floor systems
  • Able to read and interpret blueprints
Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

While performing the duties of this Job

the employee is occasionally exposed to moving parts.

Portions of the shop floor can be hot (with temperature > 100°F in annealing department) and this individual is expected to be on the shop floor for all of the shift.

The employee is expected to adhere to all company policies.


  • Must be able and comfortable to work in a heavy-industrial environment
  • Must be able to walk to work locations 100% of the time
  • Must be able to frequently bend

    stoop


    kneel and reach below/above shoulders to access equipment for repair


  • Must be able to lift tools

    parts and equipment up to 50 lbs. unassisted
