Description: We are currently seeking a Special Education Teacher for a great school district near Fall River, MA! This will be for the 2024-2025 school year in a Middle School working in either social emotional disabilities or Autism classroom. Please see the details below!

Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:20am-2:50pm


Job Summary: Responsibilities include using district curriculum to develop and implement lessons, communication with families, completion of all special ed paperwork according to DESE regulations, lesson planning, instruction, writing IEPs, collecting data and writing progress reports, attending IEP meetings, collaborating with special education staff etc.



Responsibilities:

• In cooperation with the Evaluation TEAM Chairperson, the School Psychologist, and such other special education staff members as involved; performs diagnostic assessments of children suspected of or diagnosed as having special education.


• In cooperation with the Evaluation TEAM Chairperson, consults regularly with regular education and special education teachers regarding ways to meet needs of those special education students assigned to their classrooms.


• Work with school staff to promote maximum integration of children with special education.


• To participate actively in the evaluation process and TEAM meetings.


• To chair all perfunctory review and annual review meetings of students.


• To administer educational assessments for annual reviews and re-evaluations.


• To assist in the development of appropriate educational plans as directed by the Evaluation.


• Insure the orderly and timely implementation of those educational plans developed.
  
  

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree from an accredited college or university with emphasis on Special Education.


• Appropriate Massachusetts Teaching License - All candidates must hold valid Massachusetts licenses in special ed with moderate or severe disabilities.


• Preference will be given to those candidates who present evidence of substantial experience in regular and/or special education settings.
