GHD has an opportunity for an Environmental Project Director / Relationship Manager to join our Contaminated Site Assessment and Remediation Business Group in Dallas, TX. We are seeking self-motivated professionals with excellent technical skills, local regulatory knowledge, and values to build credible relationships with clients and the community. You'll need to be flexible in your approach to challenges and have a strong ability to think laterally in delivering technical solutions.


Responsibilities for this position will be:

  • Lead technical projects: maintaining client satisfaction while ensuring projects are delivered safely and within scope, schedule, and budget
  • Experience working and mentoring a high-functioning team specializing in the investigation, evaluation and remediation of contaminated sites
  • Solid understanding of U.S. EPA regulations, State environmental regulations for various Mid-Continent states, and other standards/regulations affecting industry
  • Experience with preparing regulatory work plans and reports for investigation, remediation, and closure; working knowledge of methods and procedures for site characterization, hydrogeologic analysis and remediation of contaminants in soil, soil vapor, indoor air; and groundwater understanding of multimedia remedial technologies for addressing a variety of contaminants.
  • Proven experience managing and delivering on multiple projects and deep understanding of industry standards
  • Development of efficient technical and regulatory strategies and solutions that address our clients' specific compliance needs and challenges
  • Ability to oversee and review work carried out by other environmental professionals and provide constructive feedback
  • Ability to travel for short durations which will include overnight travel
  • Collaborate with Region Environment Market Lead and Business Group Leader to grow the business in the Region serving as a client Relationship Manager.
  • Develop and implement business strategies and initiatives to expand environmental services to new clients
  • Identify and develop strategies to gain new business with clients and include business development, strategic initiatives, and sales development
  • Maintain a high profile externally through membership/attendance in industry organizations, continually growing contact base
  • Lead proposal development and contract negotiation to win targeted pursuits
  • Achieve goals identified for business development by working in coordination with Operations to successfully develop and win work
  • Perform data entry into Client Relationship Management database for lead tracking and opportunity information
  • Formulate and present proactive approaches to the proposal development process, which demonstrate the company's capabilities and value proposition
  • Build, grow and maintain an active list of large and/or strategic new prospects that will ensure the growth of clients
  • Establish and develop long-term relationships with current clients, new clients and prospective teaming partners

  • Proven experience in establishing and building relationships within all levels of client management
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills with experience working effectively in a collaborative, environment
  • Demonstrated outstanding communication, presentation, follow-up, negotiation, and closing skills
  • Solid organizational skills with the proven ability to lead multiple priorities at a time
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently
  • Self-sufficient in current office applications (eg MS Office)
Qualifications:
  • 15+ years of experience in the environmental market with a strong record of developing and implementing projects within the industry
  • Bachelor degree in a science-or engineering related field
  • A Master's degree in a science-or engineering related field or MBA is desirable
  • Professional Registration (Engineer or Geologist) is desirable
