Position Overview: As a Market Access Counsel, you will play a critical role in shaping our market access strategy and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including commercial, medical affairs, and regulatory, to navigate complex market access challenges and optimize our product positioning in the marketplace.
Key Responsibilities:
Legal Guidance: Provide expert legal advice on market access strategies, including pricing, reimbursement, and health technology assessment processes.
Policy Analysis: Analyze and interpret relevant laws, regulations, and policies impacting market access and reimbursement for our products.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams to develop and implement market access strategies that align with business objectives while ensuring compliance with applicable laws.
Contract Review: Review and negotiate contracts with payers, distributors, and other stakeholders to facilitate market access for our products.
Training and Support: Develop and deliver training for internal teams on market access issues, compliance matters, and regulatory developments.
Risk Assessment: Identify potential legal risks related to market access and reimbursement activities and provide strategic guidance to mitigate those risks.
Industry Engagement: Stay current on industry trends and changes in market access policies, and represent the company at industry conferences and meetings.
Qualifications:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
Admission to the California State Bar or eligibility to practice in California.
5+ years of experience in a legal role within the biotech or pharmaceutical industry, with a focus on market access and reimbursement.
Strong knowledge of healthcare laws, regulations, and compliance issues affecting market access.
Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
