SUMMARY



The Electrophysiology Technologist working in the Electrophysiology Lab, in collaboration with disciplinary team with the EP Lab, assists clinically and technically in invasive and non-invasive electrophysiology procedures utilizing specialized equipment while maintaining patient safety and comfort. Operates and maintains specialized physiological systems, assists physicians during procedures and performs unit-based activities. Shares essential information through documentation and verbal communication. Participates in continuous process improvement activities in the unit. STATUS: Full-Time



LOCATION: SCHI - Brighton with possible travel to SCHI Greece, SCHI Linden Oaks, SCHI Geneseo, SCHI Dansville, and Medical Office Building at RGH



DEPARTMENT: Cardiology



SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm with opportunity to volunteer on weekends and optional Overtime

- Demonstrates effective assessment skills that identify common physiological and psychological needs, perception and expectations of patient in regards to immediate and long term care and shows an understanding of cardiovascular physiology and disease and the ability to recognize changes in patient condition.


- Participates and complies in meeting both internal & external regulatory standards.


- Demonstrates knowledge and experience setting up, operating and maintaining technical Electrophysiologic equipment.


- Performs or assists with daily QA of this equipment.


- Utilizes in-depth analytical skills to assess operation and reliability of EP equipment, interpret intracardiac data and make accurate measurements of intracardiac recordings.


- Demonstrates ability in advanced ECG interpretation, arrhythmia recognition and sterile techniques. Completes documentation relevant to invasive procedures.


- Maintains records and technical notations of each case.


- Performs duties related to EP procedures: prioritizes tasks and exams, confirms patient identification and examination, provides MD with pertinent information for interpretation, individualizes and provides effective explanations of exams to patients, correctly position and set up patients for examinations. Procedures include, but not limited to: Permanent Pacemakers, Temporary Pacemakers, AICD Implants, Bioventricular Pacemakers, AICD Loop Recorder Implants, Cardioversions, EP Studies and Ablatins, ACT, EP Mapping, Stimulation System and Documentation System.



RESPONSIBILITIES




PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.



PAY RANGE: $16.75 - $18.50

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
