Description: Our client is currently seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician



Scope of role:




Location: Brunswick, GA



Hours: Mon-Fri 4:00pm-12:00am



Summary: The Flow Cytometry Medical Lab technician will carry out a variety of low to high complexity laboratory tasks including all sample processing, triage and collate all patient history.


This job will have the following responsibilities:

• Carry out a variety of moderate to complex techniques including sample processing, pipetting, preparation of smears (BM, PB and FNA's) and subsequent staining


• Independently perform all steps involved in specimen processing, panel pipetting and incubation/washing for flow cytometric evaluation


• Perform viability stain and count to determine proper cell concentration of processed samples


• Multi-task with minimal margin of error


• Help maintain detailed patient records/files of all tests/patients for tracking and follow-up


• Maintain good communication skills thru email and shift log with co-workers and management


• Maintain a well-stocked, clean and safe lab environment Keep detailed equipment maintenance logs
  
  

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Associate Degree in a laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution or equivalent education and training preferred
  
  
• Flow Cytometry experience required


• MLT or MT ASCP certification or equivalent preferred
• Knowledge of sterile techniques, pipetting and smear preparation required


• Must have the ability to stand for long periods of time, bend, stoop, twist and lift approximately 35 pounds


• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision


• Must be an organized, detail-oriented team player Excellent written and verbal communication skills
