Who we are looking for

The Reference Data team is seeking an experienced QA Analyst with financial services background to execute the overall quality plan for our reference data applications. A good candidate is able to familiarize themselves with existing logic quickly and design meaningful solutions for our client. Additionally, candidates must be well-organized and be able to deliver projects in a timely manner. This role requires a talented, detail oriented, enthusiastic individual who is passionate about quality with the ability to grasp tough issues quickly and deliver well engineered, high-quality solutions. In addition, this candidate is responsible for maintaining and expanding the labs which host both automated and manual testing as well as conducting staging and certification of the product media during the ship-stage of a release.

Financial services industry experience is preferred.

Responsibilities:


  • Work closely with the scrum master, product owner, architect, business analysts, product specialists, developers and other project team members to assist in carrying out the software quality responsibilities of the Agile team

  • Develop and execute manual and automated functional, integration, and regression tests

  • Maintain automated and manual test script libraries for functional, integration, and regression testing

  • Align with the Software Development Life Cycle practices, comply with Information Security and Data Governance practices

  • Interpret results of manual and automated tests and document software defects in issue tracking system; proactively communicate issues with developers and other project team members

  • Provide testing leadership by identifying opportunities for improvement in the Scrum team's QA methodology, innovate by researching and recommending new approaches to automation of testing.

  • Adhere to a testing schedule to ensure efficient and effective product delivery

  • Actively participate in the agile software development process by adhering to the CRD Scrum methodology including attending all daily standups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives

  • Participate in "testathon" activities as required by releases

  • Work with offshoreteam in proper creation of automated test scripts.


  • Analyze business/functional requirements.

  • Create functional specifications, test and use cases, setup/fine tune business processes.

  • Perform data mapping, gap/comparative/report analysis as needed.

  • Collaborate with developers for coding/testing of functional requirements.

  • Coordinate with business users for BUAT testing.

  • Validate production deployment of applications.

  • Proven experience in software testing in a process driven technology environment.

  • Demonstrated experience programming with JAVA, SQL and shell scripting languages.

  • Demonstrated experience implementing and executing automation test scripts against web, native/desktop applications, APIs and batch applications.

  • Demonstrated experience using test cases, scripts, and automated test tools for verifying requirements on multi-tier applications

  • Demonstrated ability translating business requirements into comprehensive functional and technical test plans

  • Strong understanding of SDLC process and project methodologies (Waterfall/Agile).

  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously across different teams.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to coordinate with team members and stakeholders in multiple locations.

  • Aptitude for learning new things and flexibility to adapt and follow guidelines.


Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • B.S. degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, and Physics or other technical course of study or Business with an MIS background.

  • 12+ years of QA experience.

  • Strong communication/documentation skills.

  • Demonstrated success in working with multiple business users in a demanding and dynamic environment.

  • Strong knowledge in Capital Markets, preferably in Fixed Income securities and trade flow.

  • Experience with reference data management a plus.

  • Sybase and/or SQL Server querying skills for analysis and production issue research

  • XML and UNIX experience a plus

Salary Range:
$100,000 - $160,000 Annual
