Salary Range: $111,103 to $128,385 annual commensurate with experience. 

POSITION SUMMARY
 

An energetic and highly motivated professional, the Director of Individual Giving works collaboratively as a member of the Advancement team to build a broad network of supporters and maximize individual donor support for Heluna Health. Responsible for devising and executing effective solicitation strategies to yield new gifts to the Heluna Health Community Fund, the organization’s pool of unrestricted support, from all sources using online giving campaigns, peer-to-peer, and personal solicitations. The Director will create compelling content to significantly build the Heluna Health Community Fund and other individual giving solicitations. Responsible for developing strategy to engage donor advised funds as well as grow individual giving through major gifts. The incumbent will manage an annual giving calendar and campaigns for social media and, in coordination with communications colleagues, contribute to communications vehicles including a quarterly donor newsletter. Responsible for data mining and manipulation, statistical reporting and analysis, and audience management in a CRM. Responsible for the documentation, maintenance, and regular reporting of gifts and pledges, with fidelity to donor intent, and in a manner that assures the accuracy, consistency, and data integrity of donor records. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Effectively articulate the case for support so that new and existing donors understand and connect to the mission, vision, values, and goals of Heluna Health.

  • Devise a comprehensive strategy to exceed $500K in annual unrestricted gifts to the Heluna Health Community Fund from all sources, including working with leadership to propose new campaigns/areas of support to grow the Fund. 

  • In coordination with leadership, facilitate Board of Directors’ personal giving and peer solicitations; implement strategies to increase funds raised.

  • In coordination with the Prospect and Stewardship Manager, oversee the development of the donor pipeline, including identification, cultivation, solicitation, moves management, gift receipting, donor acknowledgment, and stewardship process for individual donor gifts.

  • Responsible for documenting and enhancing comprehensive data and gift entry policies and procedures for Advancement; oversee accurate data entry for all biographical and donor gift information; execute weekly, monthly and quarterly reports.

  • Support lead generation strategies to build a robust, loyal and engaged constituency for Heluna Health’s wide array of population health programs and services.

  • Serve as key customer service resource to constituents and colleagues to resolve questions about gift and constituent records.

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

Previous Experience:


  • The candidate should have a solid development background (minimum 5 years) with a proven record of advancing successful annual giving campaigns.

  • Must be a self-starting, determined professional with significant experience building successful relationships and meeting established fundraising goals and objectives.

  • The candidate should have experience with web-based fundraising and email marketing applications (i.e., Mailchimp, Classy) and experience using online search tools to research matching gifts, stock gifts, and other constituent information.

  • Proven demonstration of initiative, motivation, creativity, and ability to work independently.

  • Experience handling multiple projects simultaneously, adhering to strict deadlines, adapting easily to changing situations and shifting priorities, with a track-record of success in a team environment. 

Knowledge and Education:


  • Must possess exceptional written and oral communication skills specifically geared towards fundraising.

  • Good working knowledge and experience with relational databases, gift accounting, IRS regulations, and FASB/GASB, desired.

  • Extremely detail-oriented and accurate with the interpretation and entry of data.

  • Effective interpersonal skills, an aptitude for logical thinking, keen attention to detail, and a creative and positive attitude. Excellent donor stewardship.

  • A bachelor’s degree or demonstrated equivalent training or technical experience is required.
