Job Description:

SUMMARY
Performs various distribution functions involved in the accurate and timely shipment of customer orders, including pulling products from inventory, scanning items for accuracy and boxing orders for shipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Determines order needs; scans products from inventory shelves and places in bins, checks items to meet our quality standard and correct quantities. Packages products in a proper manner to provide quality service for the customer.
Monitors and records inventory stock levels and stocks partial case inventory.
Scans codes of pulled items, checks against order and resolves discrepancies.
Verifies shipping information and boxes items; follows any special packing instructions on the pull sheet.
Strives to reduce waste, recycle products whenever possible and re-use resources when practical.
Works safely at all times, follows safety rules and policies and participates in scheduled trainings
Reports injuries and near misses promptly and in required detailed format; proposes corrective action.
Other duties may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and no prior experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple notices and instructions, including operating procedures and safety rules. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.

QUANTITATIVE SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight, volume, and distance measurement.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Basic computer skills, and use of hand held scanners.
Ability to operate (or learn to operate) manual pallet jacks.
Attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work within a team concept.
