Activity Aide at Norwood Towers Post Acute in Norwood, Ohio

Job Description:

At Norwood Towers Post Acute, we are dedicated to enhancing the lives of our residents through engaging activities and meaningful connections. We are currently seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic Activity Aide to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and conduct individual, small, and large group activities for residents.


• Facilitate effective communication between staff, residents, families, and community partners.


• Participate in community planning to align facility services with resident needs.


• Assist in developing a monthly activity calendar and maintain attendance records.


• Support the Quality Assurance and Assessment Committee in addressing identified quality deficiencies.


• Collaborate in discharge planning and develop activity care plans based on resident assessments.


• Arrange transportation for residents for outings, appointments, and discharges.


• Encourage resident participation in self-initiated activities, hobbies, and crafts.


• Provide necessary materials, including reading materials in Braille or audio formats.


• Assist with assessment documentation and quarterly progress notes.


• Maintain a clean, orderly, and secure Activity Department.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; one year of experience in a long-term care facility is preferred.


• Strong communication skills and the ability to read and comprehend policies and procedures.


• Basic math skills for applying concepts such as fractions and percentages.


• Problem-solving abilities and the capability to interpret a variety of instructions.

Physical Demands:

• Frequent standing, walking, and lifting (up to 50 pounds).


• Occasional sitting, climbing, and balancing.


• Ability to perform various physical tasks and adapt to changing environments.

Work Environment:

• Low to moderate noise levels.
