ASSISTANT WOMEN'S BASKETBALL COACH / FITNESS CENTER ASSISTANT

Salary Range: $16.00 hr


Position Status: Part-Time Temporary / *Not to exceed 29 hours/week




JOB SUMMARY


Under the direction of the Head Women's Basketball Coach, the Assistant Basketball Coach / Fitness Center Assistant provides support in all aspects of the Women's Basketball program. The position provides support and assistance in the Mark E. Smith Performance Center.




ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS



Women's Assistant Basketball Coach



  • Be available for all team practices, games and functions.

  • Assist in organizing and running team practices.

  • Monitor team study halls.

  • Monitor team strengthening and conditioning exercises.

  • Prepare basketball scouting reports.

  • Assist in the student athletic recruiting process.

  • Set up facilities for team practices and games.

  • Assist head coach in organizing and participating in team-related activities.

  • Other administrative duties as assigned.by women's head basketball coach.




Fitness Center Assistant



  • Maintain general operations of the Fitness Center during assigned hours, including:

    • Check-in of visitors.

    • Ensure necessary documents are completed by members and logged in computer.

    • Clean all equipment (twice per shift).

    • Monitor all visitor activities while visiting the Fitness Center.

    • Ensure all equipment (ie: weight equipment) is in proper working condition.



  • Assist plan and implement two/three intramural activities per semester.

  • Other administrative duties as assigned by the Fitness Center Coordinator / Director of Athletics.




EQUIPMENT



  • Work activities routinely involve work with tools and equipment related to athletics and physical fitness.

  • Activities also involve work with personal computers and peripheral devices, as well as basic office machines.

  • Must be a licensed driver and able to operate a rental vans.




KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Strong and effective interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • Knowledge of procedures to be followed in the event of an emergency.

  • Demonstrated proficiency with various software packages including Microsoft office and Google suite.




JOB STANDARDS/QUALIFICATIONS



  • High school diploma or High School equivalency diploma required, Associates Degree preferred.

  • Ability to work with multiple populations (team members, campus employees, community members, etc.), as part of a team and work with others.




JOB LOCATION


The main campus of Cleveland State Community College is the primary workplace. Regular travel to athletic events at other institutions is expected.
