This facility operates five days a week and produces Barber Foods Stuffed Chicken Breast products.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Operates in a safe manner, and in accordance to all company policies and procedures.


  • Fills in for Supervisor when needed, performing supervisory functions, such as providing associates with direction, ensuring all team members work safely and adhere to company safety policies.


  • Reports to the Shipping/Receiving Department Supervisor, ensuring compliance with Tyson Foods, Inc. safety, quality, and shipping/receiving policy directives and standard operating procedures.


  • Oversees an area(s) within the department, performs various material handling duties, and coordinates necessary resources to ensure successful operation of that area(s).


  • Ensures Personal Protective Equipment is in proper condition and used correctly.


  • Ensures inventory accuracy for all movements and inventory in assigned area(s) by reviewing, tracking, and modifying recorded movement transactions in the SAP system.


  • Communicates issues with other department Leads in Portland to ensure general awareness, coordinated resources, and efficient resolution.


  • Communicates with corporate stakeholders, schedules inbound and outbound shipments as necessary (e.g., transportation, strategic sourcing, inventory control).


  • Directs tasks of S/R Department Forklift Operators (PR03, PR04, and PR05), ensuring they are all properly trained in assigned tasks, are performing effectively, and working efficiently as a team. A Lead PR06 must know and be able to effectively perform all essential duties and responsibilities of a PR03, PR04, and a PR05.


  • Responsible for training Forklift Operators (PR03, PR04, and PR05), in their essential duties and responsibilities.


  • Performs physical inventory cycle counts.


  • Ensures all department storage area(s) are continuously stocked with clean raw materials and packaging for expected production needs.


  • Directs an organized and clean work environment according to 5S principles, GMP's, and USDA regulations.


  • Reports any significant damages, discrepancies, unsafe behaviors, and risks to Supervisor.


  • Works collaboratively with other Leads to determine product importance and production set-up.


  • Responsible for redirecting TM's during downtime.


  • Responsible for performing required exercises at the beginning of shifts and after breaks.





REQUIREMENTS:



  • Must obtain certification and operate safely all Portland, ME site specific Powered Industrial Equipment by Tyson Foods, Inc. standards within 90 days.



  • Must have combined experience with PIT equipment, SAP, or in a leadership role.



  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and push up to 100 lbs.


  • Must have proficient computer knowledge of SAP shipping and receiving functions, including tools to navigate and research discrepancies.


  • Must be able to communicate ideas and explain procedures clearly to others, have an attention to detail and accuracy, and the ability to prioritize with an ever-changing workload.


  • Must be self-motivated, team oriented and thrive in a team environment.


  • Must possess effective leadership skills to demonstrate and effectively train all TM's within the department, demonstrating a willingness to grow and advance, and leading by example.


  • Must be able to stand/sit while working in a cold environment ( -10 degrees below zero to 40 degrees F).


  • Must wear steel/composite toe boots that conform to site requirements.


  • Must provide relief for other TM's during breaks, ensuring TM's comply with the break and lunch policy.


  • Must be willing to accomplish other duties as assigned, work flexible hours including overtime and weekends.




Candidates who have previously worked for Tyson will have a minimum rehire waiting period of 90 days and are limited to 3 times of employment.
