Job Description:

A client of Innova Solutions is immediately hiring for a Senior Principal Electrical Engineer.

Position type: Full-time - Contract

Duration: 12 Months Contract

Location: Indianapolis, IN


As a Senior Principal Electrical Engineer, you will:

  • As a Senior Principal Electrical Engineer, you will work within and lead a team of talented and experienced engineers performing activities related to design, analysis, simulation, test, and integration of digital electronic modules, FPGAs, and/or CCAs for a variety of DoD applications.

  • The qualified candidate possesses proficiency with all aspects of circuit card, FPGA, and embedded design.

  • Experience with any of the following sub-disciplines of particular interest: system-on-chip (SoC) full stack development, digital and mixed signal design, configurable logic (FPGA/firmware) design, RF design and power electronics design.

  • The successful candidate is one who can participate and lead a multi-disciplined team and properly apply engineering tools and processes.

  • This position requires frequent use of technical standards, principles, concepts, and techniques that candidates apply to provide solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate to difficult scope and complexity.

  • Successful candidates work in and lead a fast-paced, team-based, and challenging technical environment where an individual and leader with talent and initiative can stand out and thrive under limited supervision.

  • Lead a team in design activities, generating engineering drawings, developing models, integrating, and testing digital electronics products and performing trade studies.

  • Drive an engineering team to the completion of project/program milestones.

  • Provide Subject Matter Expertise (SME) in independent reviews, establishment of best design practices, and strategic capability growth.

  • Following, guiding, and providing improvements established Hardware Engineering processes and procedures.

  • Develop technical and bid approaches for pursuits and proposals.

  • Execute thorough design and peer reviews.

  • Direct and oversee testing events such as design verification and qualification testing.

Note: Monday - Friday work week || 3 days a week in office || 2 days remote

The ideal candidate will have:
  • Minimum 12 years of Engineering design experience with a Bachelor's degree or a Master's degree

  • Proficiency in managing schedule and resources to meet assigned milestones

  • Positive attitude and proven leadership skills

  • Customer focus and ability to collaborate

  • A self-motivated and effective communicator

  • Proficiency in electrical circuit design, schematic capture, embedded firmware design, electrical analysis, simulation, and test

  • Proficiency in requirement development and/or review

  • Proficiency in embedded full stack development including C, Assembly coding, OOP, Driver development, Bare Metal and RTOS development, scheduling algorithms, task and memory management, IP integration, Design for Test and Continuous Integration, and version control management (git, svn, etc..)

  • Knowledge and understanding of Machine Learning Model HW development and deployment including model optimization, ML learning frameworks and libraries, parallel processing architectures, and ML common algorithms (Decision trees, Clustering, Neural Networks, etc...)

  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in full-stack development using Xilinx and/or Microchip FPGAs and SoCs

  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in advanced FW and FPGA simulation, languages, and emulation techniques

  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience with embedded test techniques, design for test, design margin analysis and design for production

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or EET.

PAY RANGE AND BENEFITS:

Pay Range*: $90 - $100 per hour
*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
