Seeking a electrical project manager that has a licensed journeyman electrician background and industrial project management experience in conveyor, material/package handling machinery, automation, robotic cell, and general machinery installations. This position will be based out of our Covington, GA R&D facility and can be set up as a hybrid position for the right candidate. Position requires up to 50% compensated national travel by air or in your own vehicle.
Responsibilities and Duties
Project Planning:
Define electrical project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
Develop detailed project plans, including schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
Provide material take offs to ensure crews do not run out of materials.
Team Management:
Lead and coordinate the project team, including engineers, electricians, and subcontractors.
Assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure team members meet deadlines.
Budget and Cost Management:
Prepare and manage project budgets.
Monitor and control project costs to ensure they stay within budget.
Approve invoices and manage financial documentation.
Technical Oversight:
Provide electrical technical guidance and expertise.
Ensure compliance with electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
Oversee the design, installation, and testing of electrical systems.
Communication:
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, stakeholders, and vendors.
Prepare and present project status reports.
Facilitate meetings and ensure clear communication among all parties.
Risk Management:
Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
Monitor and address issues as they arise to keep the project on track.
Quality Control:
Ensure that all work meets the required quality standards.
Conduct inspections and tests to verify system performance and safety.
Test and troubleshoot control and power distribution systems.
Documentation:
Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including plans, contracts, and progress reports.
Ensure proper documentation of changes and updates to the project.
Compliance and Safety:
Ensure adherence to safety protocols and regulations.
Conduct safety audits and training sessions for the project team.
Monitor jobsite NEC, Arc Flash and OSHA requirements.
Project Closeout:
Oversee the completion of project deliverables.
Ensure proper handover of completed projects to the client.
Conduct post-project evaluations
Qualifications
Minimum of an Associates Degree.
Project Management Professional (PMP) is a plus.
State Licensed Electrician.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical project management.
Proven track record of managing electrical projects from inception to completion.
In-depth understanding of electrical systems, components, and construction methods.
Familiarity with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera), CAD software, and other relevant tools.
Strong leadership skills to manage and motivate project teams.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address project challenges.
Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks.
Skills to negotiate with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
Familiarity with local, state, and federal electrical codes and safety regulations.
Ability to manage budgets, forecast costs, and control expenses.
Understanding of risk management principles and practices.
Knowledge of quality assurance and quality control processes.
Experience with control wiring and cabling to field control devices (photo eyes, limit switches, push button stations, etc.) for conveyor and sortation systems, palletizing equipment, press experience, etc.
Experience with motor control centers install power feeds ranging from 120v to 480v AC.
of closed circuit camera system including terminating coaxial cabling.
Understanding of network cabling including cat 5, 5e, 6, DeviceNet, fiber Optic, etc.
PLC experience is a plus.
Familiar with Rigid, IMC and EMT conduit on or servicing industrial equipment.
Valid Driver's License and one additional form of ID.
Minimum 10 years industrial experience in the electrical trade.
Experience as a crew lead electrical supervisor.
