What's the role?

As the Machinist, Secondary Operations , you get to work with an astonishing team that plays a vital role in Katalyst Surgical, LLC. Show case your skills and experience with process enhancements by helping to grow our machine shop into a self-sufficient parts center. Seeking someone who can not only finish machined parts, but also ensure items are defect free, identify areas for process improvement, and develop relationships with peer groups that foster unity of purpose and valuing quality, safety, and collaboration.

Controls or operates machinery or equipment to assist with manufacturing and other steps along a production line. Operates computerized numerical control machine (CNC-machine) and is able to make minor adjustments to the CNC programming.

Here's what you'll do:


  • Deburring and inspection of completed parts; Selection of appropriate tooling; utilize tooling to craft medical instruments of the highest quality.

  • Plan proper task sequences from blueprints, written, or verbal instructions.

  • Monitor and check the output quality of parts, reporting all issues to the secondary operations lead.

  • Identify and implement and/or learn new techniques and skills that enhance the manufacturing of surgical instruments.

  • Other duties may be assigned

Do you qualify?


  • A minimum of 1-2 years' manufacturing experience in a shop environment, ability to utilize a microscope and handle tiny parts is required.

  • The ability to read and interpret work orders, written, and verbal instructions/requirements.

  • Experience inspecting parts for burrs and/or defects.

  • A focus on quality, maintaining a clean workspace, and assisting peers and/or leadership as needed.

  • Attention to detail and accuracy in a busy shop environment.

  • The ability to work in a shop floor environment, sitting, standing, balancing, bending, kneeling and move up to 40lbs.
