Travel is back, and Expedia's Media Solutions group is looking for a Software Development Engineer to help build the world's best travel advertising platform. Expedia's Media Solutions group enables hotels, airlines, and other travel providers to reach travel shoppers with helpful and relevant travel products. We have revolutionized the way brands reach and connect with online travel consumers, and we have emerged as the leader in online travel advertising. Our travel advertising platform is evolving quickly, and we need a Software Development Engineer to help design, build and deliver the next generation platform.
In this role, you will:
Engineer scalable, fault tolerant software for serving ads across all Expedia Group pages
Implement holistic solutions to bring consistent experience between shopping experiences , with focus on Front-end, and advise on technological limitations and alternative solutions
Partner with Product leaders, Designers, and fellow engineers to innovate best-in-class solutions using design systems and UX/XD best practices
Develop outstanding and thoroughly tested code for our platform
Deliver on team goals and partner effectively in defining technical solutions
Follow coding standards and engineering practices as agreed by the team
Cross organizational boundaries to collaborate with other technology teams to resolve integrated problems
Advocate for engineering excellence, exceptional usability, and outstanding quality
Drive architectural decisions on our systems and the integration with the platform
Experience and qualifications:
P roficiency in JavaScript , HTML, and CSS
Familiarity with one or more front-end framework (e.g., React, Vue)
Confident in driving technical discussions and decisions across functional teams and organizations
Ability to collaborate and get results cross-team, in a sophisticated working environment
Excited to pick up, learn and run with new technologies and frameworks such as Java Spring Boot and GraphQL
Experience working with A/B testing, Experimentation frameworks
Experience developing backend services - RESTful APIs, GraphQL , Flink nice to have
Experience developing in AWS or similar cloud platforms. Preferred: S3, ECS/Docker, AWS Lambda, CloudFormation , Kubernetes
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Preferred: One or more years' experience in Digital Advertising Technology
Experience and Qualification: 4+ years as a software engineer, preferably in e-commerce
The total cash range for this position in Seattle is $137,500.00 to $192,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $220,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.
Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual's knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
