The Fordham University Graduate School of Social Service seeks passionate and innovative social work scholars to join our distinguished faculty team beginning September 2025.
We invite applications from candidates who are committed to excellence in research, teaching, and service for a 9-month tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor. Priority areas of expertise and scholarship include health, integrated health, and disabilities. However, candidates with expertise in all areas of social work practice, policy, and research are welcome to apply.
Fordham University's Graduate School of Social Service (GSS) is ranked among the top 10% of MSW programs in the nation. Located in the heart of New York City at Lincoln Center, GSS is one of the largest and most diverse schools of social work in the United States and a leader in future-focused, competency-based curriculum and innovative academic programming. The School offers a baccalaureate (BASW), master's (MSW), and doctoral (Ph.D.) degree with programs delivered across three campuses: Manhattan, Westchester, and Long Island, as well as nationally Online and internationally at Fordham's London campus. GSS is an integral part of a Jesuit University committed to human rights and social justice and for more than 108 years, has been educating knowledgeable, skilled, and dedicated professional social workers.
The selected candidate will join a collegial and supportive community of scholars dedicated to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion and the promotion of anti-oppressive, anti-racist research policy and practice.
Applicants should possess a demonstrated record of excellence in teaching, research, and scholarship commensurate with their rank. Candidates are required to have earned an MSW and a doctorate in Social Work or related discipline from an accredited institution and at least two years of full-time post-MSW professional practice experience. In keeping with GSS and Fordham University's commitment to enhancing faculty diversity, individuals from historically underrepresented populations are especially encouraged to apply.
