Language Coordinator/Certified Spanish Interpreter at Compass Health Network in Wentzville, Missouri

Job Description:

Compensation: $20.98/hourly

Responsible for interpreting and/or coordinating appointments for Dental and Primary Care Departments.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - JOB SPECIFIC:

* Schedule appointments and provide professional interpretive services.
* Confirms Spanish speaking appointments and coordinates interpreting services needed the following day/two days in advance.
* Answers Spanish line in phone system in polite and courteous manner.
* Direct phone calls and messages to appropriate office staff.
* Confirm patient's insurance coverage eligibility and coordinates interpretive services based on if covered.
* Works in conjunction with medical assistants, nurses and providers regarding medication refills, lab results, referrals.
* Coordinates interpreting services for referrals placed by our providers to other facilities which don't have the capacity to provide one.
* Provides Spanish interpreting services for Open Access patients, walk ins to express care and inquiries to Medicaid office.
* Monitors/manages interpreter schedule coordinates interpretive services for languages outside of Spanish and for patients whose insurance covers interpretive services.
* Follow-up on all Spanish missed appointments at all sites.
* Manage and monitor the patient portal for Spanish speaking patients.
* Collects co-pays, past due balances (if applicable) for Spanish speaking patients, balances daily batch and turns in money collected for the day as directed by the Central Reception Supervisor.
* Keep abreast of any updates/changes per outside interpretive providers.
* Attends monthly staff meetings as required.
* Conducts self in accordance with Compass Health Network's policies.
* Maintains strictest confidentiality; adheres to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations.
* Excels in customer service.
* Other duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS & EXPOSURE RISK:

* Regular exposure to blood and/or body fluids
* Regular exposure to radiation sources
* Regular exposure to biohazard waste materials

High School/ GED preferred

WORK EXPERIENCE:

At least two (2) year experience preferred

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:

Medical Interpreter Certification preferred
